Johan Tholson
Concept Developer, Photographer & Film director, started his professional career in the late 1990’s after five years of traditional training as a photographer, in the form of apprenticeship.
Initially, the main part of his work consisted of documentary and commercial still images, which gave him the opportunity to travel extensively to various places around the world. While still partly working with still photography, it early on became clear to him that moving media gave more room for narration and storytelling.
In the early 2000s he set up a production company that he ran for 15 years. The company had 15 employees and produced a wide range of drama series, commercials and documentary information films.
Since 2016, has Johan and Studio Mnemonic collaborated on flagship report-projects for UNDP – producing content and products with storytelling at the heart to inform and engage.
